News

Our church was blessed to be on the local news on Saturday night. Check it out here. Our pastor works for Fox so he had them come out to film our Angel Food ministry. All 4 of our family members made the cut and appear in the clip!

My Old Man

On Thursday, my "Old Man" celebrated his 35th birthday! (I am 10 weeks older than him, so I can call him "old" if I want to!) Typically he takes the day off from work for his birthday, but this year he was out of PTO so he had to work. He also had to attend classes from 4-7, but managed to have a little time to celebrate his special day!
The kids got up early to see Daddy before he left for work and give him birthday cards. I made the usual birthday breakfast: cinnamon rolls!
He got a Star Wars game for the Wii.

And Guitar Hero: Aerosmith for the Wii. Boys and their toys....

The kids and I drove over to Louisville so we could see Todd on his lunch break. We took him out to eat at Qdoba.

Enjoying lunch and time with Todd...

When Todd arrived home after class, we had a family party. The kids decorated the house with balloons and streamers. They also made him another card each. I cooked hamloaf, which is one of his favorite dishes that I don't cook very often. I also attempted to make his mom's cobbler cake with buttercream frosting. After eating, he spent the rest of the evening trying out his 2 new games for the Wii. I think he was blessed with a happy birthday!

Yeah for power!

What do you do when your power has been out for a week? You just pretend you are camping and make the most of it! On Friday night, our neighbors built a fire in the back yard and the kids roasted marshmallows and made s'mores. Then the kids and the Daddys spent the night outside in the tent!
Bekah and Liberty are having a blast!

Daddy put our tent on top of the trampoline!

They are ready for bed!

Thankfully, our power was restored on Saturday afternoon! Yeah for power!

No power!

Hurricane Ike made its way through our area on Sunday. There was quite extensive damage to the area with lots of trees and power lines coming down. Our power went out sometime Sunday morning. As of today (Wednesday) it is still not back on! Me and the kids had gone down to my parent's house on Saturday evening because my parents bought tickets to Disney on Ice for Sunday evening. Since the power was out at our house, we have extended our stay and are still hanging out here in Columbia, Tennessee. We have some friends who did not lose power, so Todd was able to get Brandon's insulin out of our refrigerator and into theirs. He also took the meat out of our freezer over there (thanks Guffeys!) so we wouldn't lose everything. Everything else in the fridge was lost and will be thrown out whenever I get home. Thankfully we didn't have any damage to our home like so many other people did. We are very blessed.

Dance!

Last week Bekah started her first dance classes! She goes every Friday for an hour. The first half hour is tap class and the second half hour is ballet. She's only been once, but so far she is loving it! I'm already looking forward to her recital (which will be Sunday, June 7th, 2009, for anyone who wants to plan ahead!) She has class with her friend, Kennedy, which makes it even more fun!

Yearbook Yourself!

I had fun playing around with this website! Which picture do you like best? Unfortunately some of the 80's pictures were a little too accurate for what I really did look like!

This last one is really me...taken in 1990!
