Adoption Update
Lately, many people have asked me how our adoption process is going. Well, basically nothing is happening right now. We are simply waiting. We are waiting for a match with a child that meets the criteria that we selected. Yes, we are very impatient and tired of waiting! We recently changed our age limit from 2-5 to 2-7 years old, to hopefully open up more options for a match. As long as Bekah gets to be the big sister, the age doesn't really matter to us. If we do end up matching with a child that is 6 or 7 years old, we will have more paperwork to file since we were originally approved for a child from 2-5 years old. Also, our home study agency has closed and has been taken over by another agency which is not certified to work in Indiana. I'm not sure exactly how that will affect us yet, but we have to continue to deal with a home study agency as we have to do post-placement adoption reports for 5 years after the adoption (ugh). We will also need their approval to adopt a 6 or 7 year old since they are the ones that approved us for a 2-5 year old.
We know none of this is a surprise to God, as He has all the details figured out! We are confident that we will bring our daughter home in His perfect timing. However, we are continuing to pray that we will be matched soon! There should be a new group of children coming out sometime around the end of October. I am praying this will be the month that we find a match. We'd love it if you would pray that with us as well!
