Medieval Inn

We have been studying the Medievel times in school lately. One day we had dinner at a medieval inn. We ate chicken pot pie with spoons (since forks had not been invented yet) by candlelight. They used large pieces of bread for plates, so we had our pies on texas toast instead of plates. We drank ale (diet ginger ale) out of mugs. And we played a game that was popular during that time called Nine Men's Morris. It was lots of fun!
(And by the way, the word medieval irks me so much. Who invented that spelling?!?! I think it should be spelled midevil!)
