Louisville Mega Cavern
During the month of January, our science club studied geology. We got to take a field trip to the Louisville Mega Cavern. We rode through the cavern on a tram, and all the kids got flashlights to use so they wouldn't be scared. It was interesting to learn about the history of the cavern. (It's not a cave, and we found that out too!). It was prepared to be a safe shelter during the cold war, and so we learned a lot about that too. They had dummies placed throughout the cavern showing what it would have been like to have lived in there in case of a nuclear attack. Bekah said she was scared of the dummies and was afraid they would start moving. Thankfully, that didn't happen, so she survived. I would definitely recommend the tour for anyone who is considering going there.
