Farnsley-Moreman Riverside Landing

I am finally getting the pictures on here of our trip to the Farnsley-Moremen Riverside Landing. This was a field trip that we took with our science club on St. Patrick's Day. Our study for the month of March was on archaeology, so we took a trip to an archaeological dig site in Louisville. Here is a picture of one of the sites where they had been digging.

The kids got to dig and look for artifacts also! After they dug up the dirt, they got to participate in the sifting process. While sifting, Brandon found a piece of flint which was likely a piece of scrap from Native Americans making arrowheads. At their science club meeting they got to perform the next two steps in the process which were washing the items and then studying the items to figure out what they might have been used for.

Our friends got to come also!

The Farnsley-Moreman house was built with hand-made bricks. So, the kids also got to learn how to make bricks by making their own!

Here is the historical home from the 19th century that we got to tour.

We were thankful for the beautiful weather and the hands-on learning experience for the kids!
