Happy Valentine's Day!

We enjoyed our Valentine's Day last Saturday! Here is our day in pictures:

The night before Valentine's Day, Todd bought me these beautiful white roses!

Our breakfast was heart shaped pancakes!

The pancakes were served on heart shaped plates and we used napkins with hearts!
After breakfast, it was time for gifts. The kids each got a movie and some candy.
The kids made Valentine cards for Daddy!
Todd got some money for a camera bag and a lens filter for his new camera.
The kids had heart shaped treats! Cookies and candy! Yum!

I had to go out to Todd's car to find my gift!

I got DDR for the Wii and a new workout video - just what I wanted!

Bekah made these heart glasses!

The kids spent the evening at our next door neighbor's house and Todd and I cooked a yummy dinner together.

Filet mignon and shrimp scampi!

After dinner, Todd and I rented a movie and watched it before picking up the kids next door. We saw a suspense movie called, Lakeview Terrace. We all enjoyed a wonderful day!

Friends!

Our great friends, the Prestons, are planning to move to Champaign, Illinois very soon. We recently got the privilege of keeping their three kiddos while they took a trip to look at houses and have a job interview. We are very sad to see them go, but excited to see what the Lord has in store for them. They will be planting a new church in Champaign. I know they would appreciate your prayers as they undertake this new task God has given them.

This is Bekah with Maddie! I'm not sure why I didn't get a picture of Brandon and Asa or cute little Caroline. I guess I'll have to take more pictures before they go!

Superbowl Party!

We got to host a Superbowl party at our house this year. Our pastor and his family usually host a party each year, but they had to cancel at the last minute this year. So, we had the party at our house and had a wonderful time. We had plenty of yummy food and great fellowship. Oh, yeah, and there was football too. We are blessed to have wonderful friends at our church here in New Albany!

The girls mostly chatted and watched the little ones during the game.
Kyla being her cute self...
and her crazy self...

Hannah having her snack!

All eyes on the TV!

Who won the game?? Oh, who cares....

Winter Weather

We recently had our share of winter weather. Each winter we always hope for one big snow that is enough for the kids to play in and keep Todd home from work. A couple of weeks ago, we got it. We got about 4 inches of snow and then about an inch of ice and then about 4 more inches of snow. The kids had a blast! The one thing that we didn't hope for was all the ice which knocked out our power. Thankfully, our power was only out for about 32 hours. The last time we lost power it was out for 7 days (when Hurricane Ike came through). So, we were pleasantly suprised that it was only a day and a half this time. We were very thankful that our neighbors had a fireplace where we could hang out and warm up. We are also very thankful for friends who didn't lose power who fed us supper and let us spend the 2nd night without power with them.

Brandon and Bekah made light sabers out of icicles!

Todd enjoys an icicle snack! It's low fat!

I think you are doing this the wrong way, Brandon!

This is the temperature reading in our house!

Todd took some beautiful photos!
