Photo with Blair

Here is one of the photos of our whole gang with Lisa Whelchel ("Blair"). This was from the Momtime Getaway that I went to back in October. I saw my friend Michelle this past weekend and she brought me this picture.

Trick or Treat

On Halloween, the kids went trick-or-treating in our neighborhood. We went around with our neighbors, the Russells. Here is the whole crew!
There was Snow White, a Fairy Princess, GI Joe, a zebra and a Power Ranger.

Of course the best part was coming home and checking out all the loot!!

Miss Fix It

Yesterday Todd was driving us home from church and the kids were "freezing" him. He was getting "unfrozen" just in time to save us from crashing the car. Bekah said, "If we crash the car, we'll have to fix it.....with tape." HaHa! If only it was that easy!

Boo at the Zoo

For the past several years we have enjoyed taking the kids to the Halloween event that they have at the Louisville Zoo. This year was no exception. The best part about this year is that Grandmom and Grandpa came up and went with us! We also got to ride the train this year which was a very special treat.

G I Joe enjoyed hiding in the trees! Grandmom and Grandpa also helped out by bringing Brandon the shirt, pants and hat!

Bekah got to see the "real" Snow White at the Zoo. As you can see, she wasn't very thrilled with the people in costumes. After waiting in line with Brandon to have her picture made with Shrek and Princess Fiona, she ran away crying and screaming when she got up close to the Shrek character! She said he was scary.
Although she didn't like the characters, she definitely loved getting treats in her bag! We all had a fun evening at the zoo.

The Magic Schoolbus

We went to the library this past Tuesday and Brandon picked out a Magic Schoolbus video that he wanted to check out. He's been asking to watch it constantly, so this afternoon we finally had some free time to watch it. While he and Bekah were sitting in the floor a real school bus pulled up and parked in front of our house! The Magic Schoolbus had come to take Brandon and Bekah on a trip!! They were thrilled!! This was their first experience ever on a schoolbus and they have both talked about wanting to go on a bus. They even got to open and close the door and see how that works.
Okay, so here's the real story......There really was a schoolbus that parked in front of our house (but it wasn't really magic). There is a bus stop right there and the bus driver had noticed that our neighbor's minivan was for sale. So, she came to check out the van and couldn't park in front of their house because they have a boat parked there. She asked if I minded her parking there and I said, no, as long as my kids can go on and check out your bus! The timing just happened to be perfect since we had just turned on the Magic Schoolbus movie! And the kids definitely had a great time!

What a mess!

We spent a fun day at the house painting rocks, painting with paintbrushes on paper, finger painting, and stamping with potato stamps!

Momtime Getaway

A few weekends ago, I had the opportunity to attend Lifeway's Momtime Getaway in Lexington, Kentucky. The featured speaker was Lisa Whelchel, better known as "Blair" from the TV show Facts of Life. She now writes Christian parenting books and other books. She was a great speaker....very entertaining and taught a lot of great ideas to use in parenting. I did get my picture made with her, but I didn't have my camera at the time, so it is on someone else's camera. I'm still waiting to get those pictures. Here she is signing autographs.

I got to meet up with some old college friends at the getaway weekend. We all attended the BSU at Tennesse Tech together. I also ran into 2 other friends while I was there and I had no idea they would be there. One friend I used to work with in Knoxville and I hadn't seen her in over 4 years! It was a wonderful weekend!!!
