Yesterday morning I was talking with Bekah while we were getting ready for church. We were naming off all the people in her class. When we had named them all she said, "Not me. I'm staying home."
I was quite amused. Where does she come up with this stuff?!?!? Needless to say, she did go to church and to her class and see all her friends!

"I'm going to look like this guy when I grow up!"

For those of you who don't know, Brandon is our "karate kid!" Last Saturday he tested for his yellow belt and passed with flying colors!!
OK, now can I brag on him a little bit? Normally the teacher will not accept students until they are 6 because he feels they are not ready for it. However, he tested Brandon and made the exception to let him start even though he was 5. Well, he turned 6 just 2 days before his test day. Had they tested him a week or two early I'm sure he would have passed and made a yellow belt at age 5. Also, he made the second highest score of all the kids that tested for yellow belt. The only kid that beat him was a high school aged kid. Brandon was definitely the youngest kid testing yet scored better than all of the others (including at least one adult.)
OK, enough bragging on him. Let me just say that it is amazing how God makes us all different with different gifts and talents. God has obviously created Brandon with the ability to do well in this activity and has also given him a love for it. Brandon did okay, but definitely not exceptional, in T-ball and basketball, and he didn't really love the sports either. It was okay with him; he could take it or leave it. But since he has been in karate he has been so excited about it. I know there is nothing Todd or I have done to give Brandon this enthusiasm or ability.....so I'll just boast in the Lord today!!

Is Bekah multiplying? Does she have a secret twin? No, not really, but can you tell which one is Bekah in the picture above? You might be wrong.

Now, do you know which one is Bekah??!! Are you sure?!?!?

OK, now you surely know which one is her! The other girl is her friend, Faith, from church. She is 8 months older than Bekah and they are great buddies. They like to sit together in the rocking chair and rock each week in the nursery.

And the answer is....in the top 2 pictures, Bekah is on the right side of the screen. (And in the last picture she's on the left!!) Were you right or not?!?! Let me know!!

This week Brandon got to go on a field trip with our homeschool group. He got to talk with a couple of police officers and check out a real police car! The bomb squad was there too, but we had to leave early and didn't get to see their stuff.
He also got to go rock climbing on the trip. He was too scared to get in the harness and try to climb up high, but he did enjoy just climbing a few feet from the bottom.

We also had VBS at church this past week. I led the music for the Arctic Edge Bible School. It was a very busy week, but lots of fun! Our neighbors, Jacob and Liberty, came with Brandon each night. On Friday night, the parents came and the kids sang 3 songs that they had learned during VBS. Then we ended the week with an Arctic ice cream fellowship! Fun times!!

By the way, today Todd and I are celebrating our 11th wedding anniversary!

On Thursday, June 15th, our baby boy will turn 6 years old! I can't believe it! We celebrated this past weekend in our back yard. We had 25 people come to Brandon's Lego party! We served Brandon's favorite foods.....pancakes and waffles. The waffles were Lego waffles, and we had Lego looking candy, and of course, a Lego cake! Thankfully the weather was great and everyone had a great time playing outside.

Last night we were talking with Brandon about the differences between boys and girls. I asked him, "how does Mommy know you are a boy and Bekah is a girl? What do you have that Bekah doesn't have?" After several minutes of contemplation he replied, "boy shoes."

Today we had a great time picking strawberries! We went to Huber's and spent the morning together as a family. This was Brandon and Bekah's first time to pick strawberries, and they enjoyed it for a while (then it got boring and they were ready to go play). They would search for them and then get so excited and say "I found a good one!!"
If you are ever in the area, this is a great place to go and spend the day. There is lots of fun stuff to do there and plenty of good food to eat.
